The Tanoa Tusitala Hotel brought in their best fire knife dancers to represent them in this year’s 2018 Faletalimalo Siva Afi Challenge last Tuesday.

The competitors were Pio Tiumalu and Harrison Fausa.

The 23-year-old Pio Tiumalu from Tuanai was overwhelmed by the experience. “I am very lucky to be part of this journey,” he said.

“Preparing for tonight’s event has only improved my dancing skills immensely.”

Harrison Fausa, 21-years-old also from Tuana’i, expressed how proud he was to have gotten the opportunity to represent Tanoa Tusitala Hotel in this challenge.

“This is a God-given talent and a passion I’ve instilled since I was young” says Harrison.

At the end of this challenge, Pio Tiumale walked away as the runner up and Harrison Fausa as the winner of this round now advancing to the next.

“We do this simply to elevate the level of skills within our young fire knife dancers by providing a platform whereby they showcase and exercise their talents,” said Leota Lene Leota, the key facilitator of the event.

All participants will receive monetary prizes in all levels of the competition.

This week’s challenge will be the best two fire knife dancers from Jetover Hotel. They will be Vaelaa Iloa and Motu Mareko.
