“There are no tricks that can’t be revealed, and that is why there are a lot of youths having a holiday at Tafai’gata because of their tricks” – P.M. Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi
More than 200 students graduated with different qualifications from the National University of Samoa (N.U.S) yesterday.
They were joined by hundreds of relatives, friends and supporters to celebrate the milestone at the N.U.S gym.
Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Dr. Sa’ilele Malielegaoi was the guest speaker.
“For all of you the graduates today, there is no other right path than taking the path of honesty,” he said.
“There are a lot of jobs within the government and the ministries that have already been in place for you but it’s the honesty that matters the most.
“There are no tricks that can’t be revealed, and that is why there are a lot of youths having a holiday at Tafai’gata because of their tricks.”
He also encouraged the new graduate Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery to work to the best of their abilities.
“The challenge for you is to try and keep all the patients in Samoa so that the government wouldn’t have to spend a lot of money in sending patients overseas for treatment,” he said. “It would be a shame to have all of you doctors here and yet there are still many patients being taken to New Zealand for treatments. So my advice for you is this is the beginning of a new journey and a start of a new life for you.
“It is now time to put what you have learned in the past years into action.”
The Graduates address was delivered by a graduate of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, Esera Leota.
“Today we have a accomplishment a major milestone in our lives,” he said. “We have all worked hard and suffered to make to this day. And we should be proud of ourselves.
“We have fought a good a fight and we came out as winners so let us rejoice and give thanks to the Lord for all that he had done for us.”
He also acknowledged the parents and all those who supported them throughout their journey.
