Two new lawyers were admitted to the Samoa bar during a brief ceremony at the Supreme Court yesterday.

The new lawyers are Hana Gauta and Cata Tafaeafe Seiuli.

Justice Lesatele Rapi Vaai presided over the ceremony and congratulated the lawyers for their achievements.

Justice Lesatele said that while yesterday symbolized the end of their journey as law students, it was the beginning of their journey as working lawyers.

With that is the realization of dreams, not just for themselves but also their families and supporters who have been behind them all the way.

“During your course and studies away from home, your parents, families and friends were praying for your success, studies and for your safety,” said Justice Lesatele.

“Practicing law is a very challenging one and it is another learning process… I wish you well in your career.”

Cata Seiuli is currently working at Ainu’u Law Firm. She hails from Malie and Lalomanu.

“I am very happy that I have finally made it and Glory must be unto God for all that He had done after these four years,” she said.

“There were challenges but I managed to overcome it all through prayers and the supports from my families and friends especially my father, Seiuli.

“He was the one that was behind me all these times, thanks dad for all the encouragements, prayers and continuous chores that made me strong in different challenges of life.

Hana Gauta from Sagone and Lalomalava said she is humbled and grateful that she has made it this far.  “I feel very honoured, very privileged,” she said. “I know it’s not easy, but through God everything is possible.”
