Business opportunities highlighted

The opportunities to develop your business by becoming a member of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce were highlighted at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel conference room on Monday.

The Auckland Chamber’s International Export Consultant, Moananu Sulu Robertson, promoted the opportunities during the Samoa Chamber of Commerce first member’s meeting for 2017.

Moananu was among two guest speakers. The second was Samoa Observer’s Newspaper in Education Coordinator, Marj Moore.

Moananu presented on the value of becoming a member of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. 

Her presentation highlighted that the Auckland Chamber provides extensive business support services as well as direct access to training, networking events and advocacy for its members. 

She emphasised that by becoming a member of the Samoa Chamber of Commerce, businesses are able to benefit directly by the Auckland Chamber through their strong network of members. 

In addition, the Auckland Chamber is currently working in partnership to establish an online platform for members of Samoa Chamber to access online business support services provided by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce.

Debbie Burrows and Tuala Leota, members of the Auckland Chamber also shared the value of their membership and its positive impact on their businesses. 

Marj Moore presented about the Samoa Observer - Ele’s Fund that they have set up for Samoa’s first Olympic medalist, Ele Opeloge. 

It was re-emphasized that this fund is to honor Ele for her great and well-deserved achievement. 

The presentation was well received by the members of the Chamber. 

The Chamber’s Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.), Leumaga Hobart Va’ai, said its important for businesses in Samoa to stay connected with the rest of the world.

 “We would like to express our thanks to the team from the Auckland Chamber of Commerce for presenting today – this is part of our efforts to link our members to the our worldwide network of national private sector organizations,” he said. 

“We have some exciting products in the pipeline to ensure this develops.”

Lastly, Infinity Samoa was introduced as a new member of the Samoa Chamber of Commerce. The company is Human Resources (H.R.) and Management Consultancy managed by Nonu Leumaga Saleimoa Vaai.
