CCK Trading Limited yesterday donated two sacks of clothing and one box of books in support of Bluesky’s initiative to collect items for the victims of Tropical Cyclone Winston in the Fiji Islands.

The donation was received by Bluesky Country Manager, Alex Abraham, at Bluesky’s retail store in Matafele.

“We received the call yesterday from CCK Trading that they would like to donate a few boxes towards our relief drive,” Mr. Abraham said. “We are very grateful to their management and staff for coming through and answering our plea to the public to donate for the victims of the cyclone.

“CCK is the first business to donate to our cause, but we have also received a lot of interest from other local businesses who are willing to donate and to lend a helping hand for their fellow islanders.

“We have been advertising on the newspaper and Facebook and we have received a very good response from the community so this is great news for the people of Fiji.”

Lauagaia Vae’au, of CCK, spoke on behalf of their management and staff.

“We would like to thank Bluesky for this great initiative which gives us a chance to help those who were affected by the cyclone. We have provided books and also second hand clothing for those who are in need and who were worst affected by the cyclone. We encourage other members of our community to do the same.”

Bluesky’s Matafele retail store and Maluafou headquarters are the main collection points, which will be accepting donations until 15 March 2016.
