It’s that month of the year again.

For parishes of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa, the fa’amati is an occasion to behold.

Yesterday, the Pulega of Faleata came together for their fa’amati.

The nine parishes include Tulaele, Toāmua, Vaigaga, Vaitele-Uta, Vailoa-Tai, Vailoa-Uta, Elise Fou, Petele’ema Fou and Nu’u.

The Fa’amati was originally established to improve church facilities.  Often, the mafutaga a tina provide things like mats, dishes, cooking utensils and household items. The fa’amati for Pulega of Faleata East will be held today. The parishes involved are Alafua, Sinamoga, Aleisa Sisifo, Ululoloa Si’usega, Lotopa, Ketesemane Fou, Aleisa Sasa’e, Lepea and Vaimoso.

Rev. Elder Fa’au’uga Mata’utia of the C.C.C.S. at Tulaele is the elder (Faife’au Toea’ina) for Faleata West while Rev. Elder Tavita Anesome of C.C.C.S. at Alafua for Faleata East.
