Mother needs help

To say life is tough is an understatement for Salome Kalolo Uili.

The mother of nine children from Levi Saleimoa says sometimes she feels that life is an ongoing nightmare.

What with the lack of money, absence of formal employment for anyone in her family and the fact their water supply is so inconsistent, things are certainly not looking good for the family.

Mrs. Uili said they have had more days with water than when their water supply actually works. This is despite the rain.

“The tap water would be off for how many days and it will come back on just for a while before it is back to the usual thing,” he said.

“My family is struggling to look for water.”

She has so many wishes but all these things depend on money.

She wants some help to fix the electricity in her home so her family can have some electricity.

“We really need help financially,” she said.

“The electricity has reached our area but we do not have much light in the house because it is our way of saving money.”

“Given the situation that my family is in we cannot afford another light bulb set up in the house.”

“I have five children that are attending school which is another addition to the load that I am carrying.”

“We have no money to support them with the things that they need in school. Both me and my husband are unemployed including our older children.”

Mrs. Uili said she would love to get a job to help her family.

She said her husband cannot work as he is looking after his father at the hospital.

“Having a job will allow me to provide for my children. Not just me but also my other four children who are now adults that are still searching for jobs,” she said.

“We need jobs to help our family because life nowadays has become expensive and we have nothing to fall back to.”
