From working with wires to fighting fire

When we pray to God with faith, He listens and he surely answers when we ask for His help.

This is the belief of Aneliu Iosua from Puipa’a.

Speaking to the Village Voice team yesterday, Mr. Iosua says he is grateful for the blessings he receives in life.

Mr. Iosua is a former employee of the Yazaki Company which had just recently folded.

But Mr. Iosua has been offered a chance to be a firefighter.

“When Yazaki Company got closed down, I was so frustrated and sad because I did not know what else to do in order to provide for my family,” he said.

“I have been giving out a lot of application forms looking for a new job and thankfully prayers have answered that I will start with my new job next week as a firefighter for Samoa.”

The 24-year-old said he was grateful for the experience he got from his first job.

“I really miss working at the Yazaki Company, given it was the only hope for me to provide for my family at the time,” he said.

“I worked there for three consecutive years and I have learned a lot from the place, but now I am looking forward to this new job and I look forward to providing for my family.”

Mr. Iosua also emphasized his reasons of trying to find another job after the closing down of his previous work place.

“I have been staying home ever since the closing and things were not the same anymore, I can’t provide for my family and I can’t afford to buy things that I want.”

“Another reason that pushes me to fight hard for a job is the expensive cost of living we are experiencing here in Samoa and there is so much to support like family occasions, school fees and so forth.”

Mr. Iosua is also grateful to God for the new job he has been given.

“I know I have been praying a lot when I gave out my application forms and glory to the Lord for answering my prayers and for the second chance.”
