Digicel Samoa welcomes new CEO

Digicel Samoa today announced the appointment of Farid Mohammed as its new Chief Executive Officer, in a move designed to accelerate the introduction of new technology and deliver amazing experiences for customers.

A proven leader in the business, Farid understands customers and knows the business very well, having served since 2006 in other Digicel Pacific markets, including Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Fiji and Tonga. Farid has previously served as Digicel Samoa’s Chief Financial Officer in 2012 and until recently as its Chief Operating Officer.

“With Farid’s passion for delivering the best customer experience, he is going to take Digicel Samoa to the next level. Farid has our full support in his mission to deliver faster network speeds, fresh innovation, powerful new products and simplified service options to the people of Samoa, as he leads this leg of our Digicel 2030 transformation journey,” said Colin Stone, CEO of Digicel Pacific Hub.

Commenting on the new role, Farid shared, “It’s a great time to be leading our customer-focused team as we pull out all the stops to create an awesome experience that puts customers more in control of their relationship with us. All of us are committed to building a Digicel for the future.”

Born and raised in Lautoka, Fiji, Farid has developed a track record in innovation and customer satisfaction. Farid has applied his people-centred leadership approach in the areas of finance and commercial operations across several Digicel these markets. He is a full member of CPA Australia and an alumna of Wharton’s International Executive Programme for Future Leaders.
