It’s official. The Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, Fepuleai Ropati Atila, is the new President of the Land and Titles Court.

Having been recommended by the Judicial Service Commission to Cabinet last week, Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi confirmed the appointment yesterday.

Tuilaepa said Fepulea’i’s new role means he will soon have to resign from his current designation at the Legislative Assembly.

At the beginning of the week, the Ministry of Justice and Courts and Administration, Chief Executive Officer, Papali’i John Taimalelagi confirmed the recommendation by the Judicial Service Commissioner.

The Commission is chaired by Chief Justice, his Honour Patu Tiava’asue Falefatu Sapolu. Other members include the Attorney General and the Minister of Justice and Courts Administration.

Fepulea’i will take over from former President, Tagaloa Sale Kerslake.
