Mini Clinic offers family planning for Savai’i
The Samoa Family Health Association (S.F.H.A.) has opened a mini Clinic in Salelologa Savai’i.
The Clinic opened its doors last week after the official opening where the Associate Minister of Health, Salausa Dr. John Ah Ching, delivered the keynote address.
The Mini Clinic will offer the people of Savaii services on - Family Planning, Antenatal care, S.T.I. counseling, mobile service and general health check up for diabetes and hypertension.
“We are grateful for the support from the Australian Government through the Bilateral Impact Project for funding this project for S.F.H.A,” the Association posted on its Facebook page.
“This project will help serve our people in the big island of Savaii through our static and mobile clinic.
“We would like to thank the Samoan government, in particular the Associate Minister for Health Afioga Salausa Dr. John Ah Ching who in his speech today spoke of the meaningful step this launch takes in offering comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services to the people of Savai’i.
Amanda Jewell, Australian Deputy High Commissioner, highlighted the strong relationship between S.F.H.A. and Australia and her happiness in the progress that the Impact Project has made to further health priorities in Samoa.
Savai’i is the second largest island in Samoa with population of about 40,000 people.
The clinic is supported through the Australian government funded Impact Project. U.N.D.P. will provide support with health commodities and staffing through the Global Fund HIV/TB Programme.
