Good Friday started off in the itu Asau area with church goers attending morning services to commemorate the crucifixion of Christ.

The youth group at Matavai Asau Methodist Church presented a moving musical play of the re-enactment of the crucifixion.

Shortly after the service, the congregation observed its tradition of fasting until the early afternoon when they broke their fast together with a feast.

The catholic parishes from Manase to Sasina began their Good Friday at 4am with a procession signifying the 14 Stations of the Cross beginning at Manase Village.

The procession stopped at various churches on the way, many villagers were awake to watch the march.

People of all denominations joined in the somber dawn procession.

The congregation gathered at 3pm at the historic Catholic Church in Safotu where the youth performed the Passion of Christ.
