The Samoa Victims Support Group (S.V.S.G) needs your help.

They need you to donate whatever you can to allow them to continue to cater for the needs of the growing number of survivors of abuse and sexual crimes under their care.

For the next three months from April to June, S.V.S.G will walk all roads, knocking doors through their Radiothon Fundraiser.

“Our mandate is simple. We are a support service provider to the people of Samoa and anyone that needs help,” the Group says in a statement.

Help them help Samoa; they are calling for public support.

“The objective (of the Radiothon) is to raise funds to sustain the daily operation of the organization.

“Ten years now since we opened our doors, we have saved lives.

“From an abandoned child to a battered mother, to attempted suicide teenagers to helpless parents requiring support in disciplining their children.

“We have been able to help families with sick children at the hospital and to the children survivors of sexual and domestic violence in court.

“We do receive financial donations and donor funding from international agencies, however, majority of these funds are for specific areas of support for awareness raising for children support services etc....

“Keeping our office doors open through the operational expenses and staff salaries received very little support, hence why we need to fundraise.”

The Radiothon will cover the entire country.

“We will take our Radiothon sheets to all churches, the villages, the businesses, the government ministries, individual families and friends.

All of S.V.S.G sub groups in New Zealand, Australia and American Samoa will be involved.  Our village representatives throughout Samoa will play a vital role in distributing the Radiothon sheets to you.

Through your support, we will be able to keep our doors open. We will save that extra life or make a difference in someone else’s life.”
