Netball Samoa hosted the BlueSky Mixed/Men’s  Netball Tournament last weekend.

The tournament attracted two teams from overseas – Wellington and Fiji.

The team from Wellington was from the Cooks Strait Mixed and Men’s Association led by their President Moana Solia – Matafeo.

The other team was from the Fiji Men’s and Mixed Association led by their President Vili Waterbaby.

Both teams had planned to participate in the BlueSky Men’s Tournament last November together with the NSW Netball Samoa Men’s team but due to competing priorities were unable to attend.

“We will continue to support our community to maintain active and healthy lifestyles through playing netball,” said Rosemarie Esera, CEO Netball Samoa.

“This tournament was a great opportunity in celebrating the contribution of our men to our sport, exposure of a different level of skills and to also represent their respective Associations.”

At the local level, we saw a new teams and players – Rising Stars, GITA and Super Heroes join our netball community.

The tournament enabled to showcase some of our talented netballers and also strengthen relationships within our netball community and overseas counterparts.
