Enlighten us please on “prosper and grow”

Dear Editor,

Re: Utter nonsense and rubbish

Please give us an example of “prosper and grow” for indigenous peoples across the world who are now fighting to get their lands back because of similar sugar coated logic promised to their forefathers years earlier?

The Australian government throws billions towards Aboriginal communities to “fix” their over-representation in the social ills of society.  These issues have been traced to “mental problems” and the professionals in that field have tried, without success to tell successive governments that no amount of money will change the statistics - the Aboriginals only want their land back - it’s their soul and what makes their existence real and whole.

Their connections to land for thousands of years cannot be changed in some 200 years of contact with other cultures.

I’ve read some horrendous crimes committed by white settlers, in the name of the King and Queen of England, against Aboriginals and its a very similar story around the world.

In the meantime, mainstream society continues to hate the Aboriginals for wasting so many billions and have not improved their lot. We see the same in Hawaii, New Zealand, Canada, New Caledonia and many other indigenous communities.

Samoa is heading there but I’m thankful we have some educated patriots who don’t always see “prosper and grow” in dollars signs but what makes us feel whole by having our lands and destiny in our hands.

A palagi friend of mine once said to me that the Europeans only brought “syphilisation”. All the modern gadgets of society is good and well but when you have waited for running water and electricity for 10 years raising a young family, then you have a very different view.

Repeal L.T.R.A. 2008 or we might see our country in a civil war and every other idiot who comes with their millions to trick our people - just keep your money and you can get lost.
