The date of the General Election is closing in but there are less than 10 committee members including Boards of Directors for State Owned Enterprises, who have resigned to run in March.
Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Public Enterprises, Chief Executive Officer, Elita To’oala confirmed this.
In an interview with the Samoa Observer, Miss Elita said fewer than 10 members have tendered their resignations and Cabinet has also confirmed appointments of replacement for them.
She could not disclose who the members and Boards of Directors were.
However, she explained the numbers could actually rise as the staff of S.O.E.’s resign directly to their own Chief Executive Officers.
In a recent interview with the Chairman of Public Service Commission, Tu’u’u Dr. Ieti Taulealo, he said he was only aware of the Office of the Regulator’s, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Lautimuia Afoa Uelese’s resignation.
“That’s the only one I came across from his letter,” said Tu’u’u.
“But any others, I have not received.
“Other than that, there is Matafeo Tanielu Aiafi but he did not resign; his contract had ended.”
